Psychologists call it the law of reciprocity. Basically it means when someone does something nice for you you are compelled to do something nice in return. More often than not you even reciprocate with a gesture far more generous than their original good deed. I believe this is the foundation of any good business. It is arguable this is the essence of evolving into a good human. We should all make a more conscience effort to think about this concept in more everyday situations. Instead of asking what can I receive, ask what can I do to help someone else. You may be surprised when the favor is paid back with interest.
