My orthopedic surgeon who is brilliant in his field, (I have first hand/ankle knowledge) recently gave me hand written note. It looked like a second grader wrote it. I actually felt good about it as I finally found someone with worse hand writing than me. As a self proclaimed "barely legible" hand writer I have found a few contributing factors to this theory. They are as follows. 1. We are just too busy to waste time with hand writing. 2. We are constantly multitasking. 3. If you would just shut up and listen I would not have to write anything down for you. I'm sure there are many more but these 3 are the most pronounced. I don't mean to say people with flawless penmanship are not smart, they just have more free time.
